Custodial Supervisor

About the role

Responsible for planning work related activities including the organization of workspace, workstations, crews, etc., to obtain a more effective and productive operation. Must demonstrate the following characteristics: ability to adapt to changing work conditions; provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers; demonstrate leadership and organizational skills; and represent the agency in a professional manner at all times.

Minimum requirements

• 21 years of age or older
• High school diploma or GED
• Supervision experience in a competitive work setting preferred
• Familiarity with all aspects of janitorial service, use of cleaning chemicals, floor care techniques, and the use of janitorial equipment
• Minimum of three years of experience in management
• Possess a REAL ID compliant valid driver’s license
• Have a good driving record
• Pass an initial federal background check and subsequent annual recheck to maintain all employment at CAFB
• Ability to pass drug screening
• Possess a working telephone
• Reliable transportation
• Up to date immunization and flu shots

Essential functions

• Accomplish time and motion studies, job evaluations, floor layout, use of standards, and methods for costs and price instructions
• Be familiar with ordering, controlling, and inventory of equipment and supplies
• Contract is considered mission essential, and work must be performed regardless of environmental conditions
• Perform quality control inspections
• Read, write, speak, and collect data at a high school level
• Demonstrate patience
• Coordinate several tasks and handle various situations in a calm and professional manner
• Supervise and instruct others and make schedules

Physical requirements

• Use of hands, arms, and fingers
• Ability to balance, climb, bend, stoop, and kneel
• Lift up to 50 lbs. frequently
• Walk, stand, and/or sit for eight hours per day
