Custodial Services Worker - University of Detroit Mercy Facilities

About the role

As a Custodial Services worker on our team, you’ll take on the important job of keeping our operations and locations clean, so that our customers can stay happy and healthy. Essential functions and responsibilities may vary by location based on client requirements and business needs.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to established procedures to provide a safe working environment including aligning with OSHA, state/local, federal, and Aramark regulations
• Maintain a clean and orderly environment to project the safety and health of others
• Accurately maintain and clean housekeeping equipment
• Clean assigned areas to Aramark and client standards and requirements
• Follow procedures for storage and disposal of trash and transport it to designated areas
• Report maintenance concerns via work order requests to appropriate personnel
• Secure the facility, ensuring building is locked/unlocked as required
• Ensure security of company assets
• Maintain friendly, efficient, positive guest service demeanor towards guests, clients, and co-workers

Requirements

• Previous custodial experience preferred
• Able to follow basic safety procedures and precautions due to physical risks and exposure to hazardous chemicals
• Adaptable to guests’ needs

Physical Demands

• Lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and/or extended walking and standing
• May require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
