About the role

The Custodial Services Supervisor manages the custodial staff in buildings assigned to him/her. Key responsibilities include maintaining close contact with the Manager of Custodial Services, conducting frequent inspections, participating in quality assurance programs, overseeing equipment and supplies, assisting in special event coordination, supervising staff, and providing training.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain close contact with the Manager of Custodial Services to discuss custodial needs.
  • Conduct frequent physical inspections of facilities to ensure services are provided as directed.
  • Participate in the quality assurance program.
  • Oversee and ensure proper use and care of equipment and supplies.
  • Aid in the development of standards for custodial and other programmed activities.
  • Aid in coordinating and performing departmental responsibilities for special events and daily function setups.
  • Serve as a frontline supervisor, ensuring excellent results in routine and project work through accountability and pursuit of departmental objectives.
  • Foster a cooperative relationship with Facilities and Real Estate and university departments.
  • Act independently in making decisions regarding overtime authorization, emergency responses, discipline, and customer needs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Five years' experience in facilities operations or custodial services.
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record.
  • Custodial experience a plus.
  • Prior supervisory experience in a service business strongly preferred.
  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree, a plus.
