Custodial Services Progam Manager

About the role

The University of Wisconsin-Platteville is seeking a motivated and collaborative Custodial Services Program Manager to lead daily custodial operations and ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming campus environment.

Responsibilities

• Develops, directs, and monitors the implementation of cleaning standards, emergency planning and response, and staffing strategies across multiple work units.
• Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, interviewing, onboarding, scheduling, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees.
• Oversees daily custodial operations by assigning work, monitoring productivity, conducting inspections, resolving staffing issues, and ensuring completion of cleaning and maintenance schedules.
• Provides leadership and guidance to custodial staff through regular communication, coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to support employee development and operational effectiveness.
• Collaborates with campus partners, manages custodial supplies and equipment, supports special events, analyzes operational data, and continuously improves service quality, efficiency, and sustainability initiatives, including waste and recycling programs.

Requirements

• 5 years of demonstrated management/leadership experience
• Experience in custodial or environmental services
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to bend, stand, walk, twist for extended periods of time
• Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office Suite
• High school diploma required
• Associates Degree or Bachelors Degree in management, environmental sciences or related field
