Custodial/Maintenance Worker

About the role

The Dobbs Ferry School District has a vacancy for a full-time Custodial Worker, effective approximately October 28, 2026. This is a 12‑month, 40‑hour per week (Mondays‑Fridays) position governed by the Dobbs Ferry Custodial/Security Personnel collective bargaining unit. It is a non‑competitive civil service position; the successful candidate must submit an application and a non‑refundable $50.00 processing fee to the Westchester County Department of Human Resources, and appointment is subject to final review by that department and the Dobbs Ferry School District Board of Education.

Responsibilities

• Make minor repairs to furnishings and building systems
• Perform routine maintenance on building systems
• Perform grounds‑keeping activities

Requirements

• Knowledge of safe work procedures and building cleaning practices

Skills

• Ability to work with staff including office support, teachers, related services, and building/department administrators, as well as the local community
• Ability to understand and implement written and oral communication

Pay

The annual salary range is $58,436 – $73,071.

Schedule

12‑month position, 40 hours per week, Mondays through Fridays.
