Essential Job Functions
- Assists and supports CCPS Day Porter and Custodian II to meet established cleaning procedures and processes by providing training to include chemical, machinery, and procedures.
- Ensures that custodial staff follow safety protocols and general cleaning guidelines.
- Performs Quality Assurance inspections of vendors’ performance to ensure compliance with contractual standards. Collects inspection data and generates reports.
- Collaborates and communicates with vendors in regards to performance and contractual expectations.
- Aids the Custodial Supervisor in overseeing the vendor's adherence and progression to the summer cleaning plan.
- Supports the Quality Assurance inspections of CCPS in-house cleaning.
- Supports Building Operations Supervisor with custodial issues or concerns.
- Aids the Custodial Supervisor in the management of Custodian II by: facilitating the allocation of Custodian II support to schools when requested, developing and maintaining comprehensive schedules for Custodian II staff to record attendance, work hours, and overtime accurately, organizing and conducting regular Custodian II meetings to foster a collaborative environment for knowledge sharing, performance review, and procedural updates.
- Creates, tracks, and manages work orders for schools as maintenance and cleaning needs arise.
- Conducts inspection of vehicle equipment and supplies issued to the Custodian II.
- Provides on-call phone support for after school activities, assisting with custodial-related issues and emergencies, when assigned.
- Drops off and delivers supplies for special projects as directed by the Custodial Supervisor.
- Oversees and manages any special projects assigned by the Custodial Supervisor.
- Provides cleaning support to schools as available.
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and cleaning standards.
- Ability to operate commercial cleaning equipment.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions.
- Ability to work safely and efficiently with machinery.
- Ability to read and write well enough to follow written instructions and comprehend labeling on products.
- Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply and divide) to tabulate time cards and track attendance.
- Basic computer and keyboarding skills.
