Custodial Janitor

Performs routine and non-routine cleaning and special projects as needed, ensuring offices, meeting rooms, bathrooms, cafeterias, and public areas are clean and sanitized.

Responsibilities

• Perform general clean-up of assigned building areas following a weekly schedule and as directed.
• Manage routine upkeep of exterior areas as assigned.
• Complete non-routine cleaning according to specified job orders.
• Remove garbage and recycling daily and prepare bins for weekly pick-up.
• Dispose of trash and recycling into compactor.
• Handle emergency cleaning and upkeep requests, including Bloodborne Pathogen Safety Cleaning.
• Ensure rooms are maintained and fully equipped.
• Wash, strip, and polish floors.
• Routinely clean offices, cubicles, dust, and vacuum.
• Handle janitorial request list on clipboard and perform other duties as requested.
• Assist with snow removal, sand, and salt when required.

Requirements

• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to work early morning or late night shifts; alternating Saturdays.
• Ability to work well under minimal supervision.
• Capacity to take direction.
• Strong time management skills and attention to detail.
• Physically capable of lifting and moving objects up to 30 pounds.
• High school diploma or GED.
• One year of related experience (preferred).
• ITAR compliance (if applicable).

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

Schedule

Full-time position, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Occasional overtime as needed.

Pay

Salary range: $17.50–$22.75/hour. Most new hires start around $17.50/hour. Final compensation determined by experience, skills, education, and internal equity.
