We are looking for a Curriculum Developer who takes pride in creating engaging classical Christian curriculum, has a clear vision for crafting weekly assignments and supporting materials that equip students and tutors for success. This role is your opportunity to write Challenge curriculum to guide students into mature Christian thinkers, develop weekly lesson plans and student assignments that direct at home and in community activities, and become the curriculum architect whose thoughtfully designed materials serve homeschooling families worldwide. Job Type: Full Time, Salary, Exempt | Pay Rate: $49,980/year | Reports to: Director of Challenge Development | Department: Challenge Development | Location: Remote | Travel: Occasional; up to 2-4 weeks annually Company Benefits Performance-based bonuses are available with tenureMatching 401k2 weeks of paid vacation time prorated8 hours of paid volunteer time/year10 Paid holidays1 Floating HolidayTuition reimbursementProfessional developmentMedical, Vision, Dental, Life insuranceEmployee Assistance Program Why You'll Excel In This Role Research Precision: Consult multiple reliable sources (print and electronic) to find and summarize information, tracking down obscure facts and artifacts independently using systematic research methods Documentation Mastery: Maintain 95% accuracy in source documentation and citation verification by applying MLA, APA, and Chicago Style guides with technical precision Citation Integrity: Document research with meticulous integrity, distinguishing direct quotations from summaries and verifying all work is free from plagiarism through proper source attribution Pedagogical Expertise: Develop deep understanding of Classical Conversations' pedagogy including the 5 core habits, 5 common topics, and 5 canons of rhetoric, then systematically define and apply it in curriculum development Technical Accuracy: Complete 100% of assigned curriculum development projects on schedule with attention to factual verification and methodological rigor Purposeful Research: Apply your technical research skills to support Christian education, knowing that every fact you verify and source you document strengthens Challenge curriculum for families pursuing truth and excellence Responsibilities Strategy & Research: Collaborate with the Project Development team to identify, develop, and refine processes within the department to streamline work and effortsConsult multiple reliable sources, both print and electronic, to find and summarize information about assigned topics using systematic research protocolsDevelop understanding of Classical Conversations' pedagogy and work to define and apply it in curriculum with technical precisionMeet weekly with Challenge Development team to ensure alignment on standards and methodologiesComplete monthly personal scorecard to track performance against established metrics Curriculum Development Document research with integrity, distinguish direct quotations, document sources, and verify that summaries are free from plagiarism through proper citationApply MLA, APA, and Chicago Style guides accurately in all written work, ensuring technical compliance with academic standardsRevise curriculum based on feedback from customers, peers, and leaders using systematic review processesCollaborate with a small team of dedicated writers and speakers to generate curriculum, training materials, parent resources, and other print and digital productsCreate multiple versions of projects to meet diverse needs while maintaining research accuracy and pedagogical consistencyTake initiative to track down obscure facts and artifacts independently using advanced research techniques Performance Expectations Complete 100% of assigned curriculum development projects on schedule according to the timeline laid out by the working teamMaintain 95% accuracy in source documentation and citation verificationAttend 100% of weekly Challenge Development meetings Supervisory Responsibilities None Qualifications Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, Master's preferredDirect or tutor Classical Conversations programs for more than three years with distinguished and unsolicited positive feedbackDemonstrate ongoing commitment to understanding Christian classical education more deeplyIntermediate knowledge of Classical Conversations' academic programs and Christian, classical education, specifically the 5 core habits, the 5 common topics, and the 5 canons of rhetoricAble to travel 2-4 weeks a year to attend CCMM annual onsite meeting and other meetings Core Competencies Build strong working relationships through active listening and clear communicationCoach co-workers and tutors through the Classical Conversations curriculumTake initiative to track down obscure facts and artifacts independentlyApply MLA, APA, and Chicago Style guides accurately in all written workCreate multiple versions of projects to meet diverse needs Physical Demands Color vision required for reviewing charts, graphs, and visual presentations. Ability to sit at a computer workstation for extended periods (up to 8 hours daily). Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally.
