About the Role

The successful candidate will serve as the Director of the Museum Studies Program at a leading university. This position oversees all aspects of the program, including curriculum design, faculty management, student advising, and external partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive museum studies curriculum aligned with academic standards and industry best practices.
  • Manage a team of faculty members and ensure their professional development and satisfaction.
  • Provide academic advisement to students enrolled in the program.
  • Secure funding and resources for the program through grants, donations, and other means.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external partners such as museums, galleries, and cultural institutions.
  • Conduct research and publish findings related to museum studies education.

Requirements

  • A PhD in Museum Studies, History, Art History, or a related field.
  • At least five years of experience in higher education, preferably in a museum studies program.

  • Experience securing external funding and managing budgets.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to teach effectively and mentor students.
