About the role
The American Association for State and Local History seeks a dynamic individual to join our team. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the preservation and promotion of local history.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance public engagement with state and local history
- Conduct research on historical topics and prepare reports for publication
- Collaborate with historians, archivists, and other professionals to ensure accuracy and quality of historical content
- Manage social media platforms to increase visibility and reach of historical content
- Work closely with the marketing team to develop and execute promotional campaigns
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in history, library science, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in history education or public history
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Experience with digital media and social networking platforms
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Qualifications
- Knowledge of state and local history
- Excellent organizational and project management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail
- Experience with content creation and editing

Pay
Salary range: $50,000 - $60,000 annually
Schedule
Full-time position, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
