About the role

The American Association for State and Local History seeks a dynamic individual to join our team. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the preservation and promotion of local history.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance public engagement with state and local history
  • Conduct research on historical topics and prepare reports for publication
  • Collaborate with historians, archivists, and other professionals to ensure accuracy and quality of historical content
  • Manage social media platforms to increase visibility and reach of historical content
  • Work closely with the marketing team to develop and execute promotional campaigns

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in history, library science, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in history education or public history
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Experience with digital media and social networking platforms
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of state and local history
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience with content creation and editing
