About the role
The American Association for State and Local History seeks a dynamic individual to join our team. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the preservation and promotion of state and local history.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance public engagement with state and local history
- Research and write articles, reports, and other materials on state and local history topics
- Conduct outreach activities to promote historical awareness and appreciation
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop educational programs and resources
- Manage social media accounts to increase visibility and interaction with the association's audience
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in history, education, communications, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in history education, public history, or a related field
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent organizational and project management skills
Qualifications
- Knowledge of state and local history
- Experience with digital media and social networking platforms
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong interpersonal and public speaking skills
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with content management systems
- Understanding of SEO and digital marketing principles
