About the role

The American Association for State and Local History seeks a dynamic individual to join our team. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the preservation and promotion of state and local history.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to enhance public engagement with state and local history
• Research and write articles, reports, and other materials on state and local history topics
• Conduct outreach activities to promote historical awareness and appreciation
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop educational programs and resources
• Manage social media accounts to increase visibility and interaction with the association's audience

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in history, education, communications, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in history education, public history, or a related field
• Strong writing and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent organizational and project management skills

Qualifications

• Knowledge of state and local history
• Experience with digital media and social networking platforms
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong interpersonal and public speaking skills

Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with content management systems
• Understanding of SEO and digital marketing principles
