About the role
The Iberville Museum seeks an enthusiastic and knowledgeable individual to join our team as a Curator. The ideal candidate will have a passion for history and a strong background in museum curation.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement educational programs for visitors of all ages
- Research and curate exhibits based on historical themes
- Manage the museum’s collections, including accessioning, cataloging, and storage
- Collaborate with other departments to enhance visitor experiences
- Maintain professional relationships with local historians and community members
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in History, Museum Studies, or related field
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in a museum setting
- Experience with database management systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Qualifications
- Knowledge of local history and culture
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
