About the role
The successful candidate will lead a dynamic team in developing innovative exhibitions and educational programs that engage diverse audiences. They will work closely with curators, educators, and external partners to create compelling narratives that reflect the institution's mission.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement exhibition concepts that align with the institution's strategic goals and audience needs.
- Collaborate with curators to select artworks and develop thematic frameworks for exhibitions.
- Design and manage educational programming that enhances visitor engagement and learning outcomes.
- Oversee the curation and installation of exhibitions, ensuring they meet high standards of quality and accessibility.
- Manage budgets and resources effectively to support exhibition development and educational initiatives.
- Build and maintain relationships with artists, collectors, and cultural organizations to secure loans and collaborations.
- Conduct research and analysis to inform exhibition planning and program development.
- Write and produce exhibition labels, catalog essays, and other interpretive materials.
- Represent the institution at professional conferences and networking events.
Requirements
- A Master's degree in Art History, Museum Studies, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in curatorial roles, preferably in a museum setting.
- Proven track record of successfully leading and managing exhibition projects.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build collaborative relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly.
- Experience with budget management and resource allocation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of contemporary art trends and the ability to adapt to new developments.
Qualifications
- Experience with digital platforms and social media for outreach and engagement.
- Understanding of diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility principles.
- Knowledge of grant writing and fundraising strategies.
Skills
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Experience with exhibition design software.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.

Pay
$80,000 - $90,000 annually
Schedule
Full-time, Monday through Friday, with occasional evening and weekend work as needed.
