Cupola Operator 1

About the role

The Cupola Operator is away from the control station, supporting the Cupola Operator's activities in various production areas including raw material batch and delivery, binder, spinner, Envirotec, bag house and collection chamber.

Responsibilities

• Safeguard safe practices and environmental commitments in alignment with company standards, policies, and compliance requirements.
• Monitor ABB Controls for the Cupola, Rock Yard and support equipment production areas.
• Complete Cupola tasks at the direction of the Cupola Operator or Supervisor.
• Communicate between different functional areas regarding machine, process, and safety issues.
• Assist in troubleshooting controls, spinner, and support equipment issues.
• Monitor automatic E-stops, lockout points, and control equipment during repairs.
• Collect samples for quality testing and analysis.
• Monitor production line video cameras and scale systems for production problems and maximize output.
• Support the Cupola Operator in their absence by completing necessary reports and storing records as required by environmental permits and plant policy.
• Perform safety observations and complete training assignments.
• Wear all required personal protective equipment as per management guidelines.
• Perform other duties as directed by management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• One to five years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Knowledgeable in Microsoft Excel.
• AABB knowledge is a plus.
• Two years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Team player with a high degree of interpersonal skills.
• Good communication skills with the ability to define and articulate problems to support resources including maintenance, engineering, and IT.
• Must be able to lift 35 lbs.
• Must be able to use stairs.
• Must be able to either sit or stand for 12 hours at production line controls with infrequent breaks.

Skills

• High school diploma or GED.

• Microsoft Excel knowledge.
• AABB knowledge is a plus.

Pay

The base hourly rate for this position is $19.71.
