Cultural Resources Project Manager

As a Cultural Resources Project Manager at HELIX Environmental Planning, you’ll play a key role in shaping how cultural resources are preserved and managed across the region.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee cultural resources projects across Northern California
- Manage research, field surveys, data recovery, and artifact analysis
- Direct mitigation monitoring programs and reporting efforts
- Prepare proposals and technical documents
- Coordinate with clients, agencies, Tribal representatives, and internal teams
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables
- Support business development and client relationship growth
Requirements
- Master’s degree or higher in archaeology, anthropology, history, or related field
- Minimum 6 years of archaeology experience (field surveys, reports, and agency coordination)
- At least 2 years in environmental consulting or agency settings
- Strong knowledge of CEQA, NEPA, and Section 106 compliance
- Excellent writing, analytical, and communication skills
- Valid California driver’s license
- Registered Professional Archaeologist (RPA) or ability to obtain
Qualifications
- Specialized analytical skills (e.g., geoarchaeology, lithics, ceramics)
- GPS and field data collection experience
- Experience coordinating with agencies and Native American groups
- Established client relationships

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in GIS and other relevant software
Benefits
A robust benefits package, including a salary range of $80,000 to $110,000, with details provided in the compensation section.
