Cultivation Technician

About the role

The Cultivation Technician provides manual labor to support the operations within the Cultivation department, while abiding by laws, rules, policies, procedures, and operational guidelines. The position primarily supports the flower department with day-to-day plant maintenance tasks and sanitation responsibilities. As needed, the technician may also assist in veg, mom, and propagation.

Responsibilities

• Physical, repetitive agricultural work, following directions and taking instructions from supervisors
• Repetitive climbing on a ladder or working on an elevated platform
• Netting and Trellising flower plants
• Loading plants and placing emitters
• Tucking and spreading plants as directed
• Pruning and defoliating plants
• Proper use of PPE in accordance with company guidelines
• Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and bagging any excess plant material to leave the grow room clean after plant maintenance
• Cleaning, sanitizing, and storing all grow room tools and equipment upon use
• Performing various manual cross-department job duties as needed

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum age of 21 years old (or 18 years old in CT, PA, and WV)
• Successful completion of a comprehensive background screening
• Effective communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Works well in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
• Attention to detail
• Punctuality
• Cultivation experience preferred

Physical Requirements

• Able to handle organic matter daily, able to wear PPE as appropriate (eye, face, hand, arm, head, foot, body, fall protection)
• Able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 lbs to a minimum height of 5 feet and able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance
• Able to work seated/standing as appropriate at workstations for extended periods, maintain body equilibrium while climbing ladders, stairways, stooping, kneeling, crouching, repetitive movements and reaching, and use hands/fingers to hold, grasp, turn, pick, pinch frequently/constantly to complete tasks
• Requires repetitive hand, wrist, finger and elbow movement
• Clear vision at 20 ft or more in day and night/dark conditions
• Speaks and communicates verbally at conversation levels with co-workers, vendors, etc. (Moderate noise)
