Cultivation Associate

About the role

This is a full-time position that will assist the Cultivation Manager and Vegetation Manager in all aspects of commercial cannabis cultivation at our Frederick Maryland facility. The ideal candidate will maintain a high degree of work safety, timeliness, and cleanliness, while also displaying the ability to work well within a team setting, and most importantly, be able to follow instructions. A flexible availability will sometimes be required, based on the needs of the plants.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Manage commercial garden needs on a daily, weekly, and monthly schedule.
  • Defoliation and general canopy maintenance.
  • Tracking and tagging plants for inventory and identification purposes.
  • Trellising (weaving the plants into flowering environs).
  • Cloning, propagation, transplanting, drying, curing, and trimming plants.
  • Manage plant feeding schedules, nutrient recipes, and reservoir maintenance.
  • Maintain daily logs for various processes throughout the facility.
  • Manage proper waste disposal.

Requirements

  • Ability to work varied hours and days, including nights, weekends, and holidays based on the needs of the plants.
  • Ability to collect and record accurate production data.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making within the framework of a team.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and honestly.
  • Use of computer systems, programs and applications.
  • Ability to function in an always changing work environment.
  • Ability to adapt to an evolving industry in an expanding organization.
  • Basic understanding of local, state, and federal laws.
  • Adherence to state cannabis laws and to OSHA requirements.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. on occasion.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be able to pass a fingerprinting and background check with the MCA.

Skills

  • Desired skills include 1-3 years horticultural experience, or in a related field.
  • Ability to be exposed to bright lights, loud fans/filtration systems, and fluctuating temperatures.
  • Daily work includes varying lengths of standing, sitting, and bending over.
  • Employees will be exposed to the normal chemicals found in any crop production facility (i.e. fertilizers).

Pay

Salary $18 USD per hour.

Schedule

A flexible availability will sometimes be required, based on the needs of the plants.
