Responsibilities
- Supervise the daily preparation and service of meals.
- Lead, coach, train, and schedule culinary team members.
- Foster positive relationships with residents, team members, and leadership.
- Step into any culinary role as needed to support daily operations.
- Ensure compliance with Department of Health, Department of Social Services, OSHA, and other applicable regulations.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe kitchen, storage, café, and dining areas.
- Oversee proper cleaning and storage of kitchen equipment, smallwares, and dining areas.
- Monitor food quality, presentation, and safe serving temperatures.
- Maintain temperature logs for food, refrigerators, and freezers.
- Assist with receiving, inspecting, and stocking food, supplies, chemicals, and paper goods.
- Supervise the proper handling, storage, and disposal of food.
- Maintain required documentation and reports.
- Complete resident dietary assessment documentation as applicable.
- Support LifeSpire's mission, values, and One LifeSpire culture.
- Follow all safety procedures, HIPAA requirements, resident rights, and company policies.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Minimum of 2 years of food service experience preferred.
- At least 1 year of leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Experience in a restaurant, hotel, healthcare, retirement community, or contract food service environment preferred.
- Knowledge of food sanitation, food service, and quantity food preparation.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and coach a diverse team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email, scheduling software, and HRIS systems is preferred.
- ServSafe Certification required or the ability to obtain certification.
