Join our team at NHC HealthCare Lawrenceburg as a Culinary Specialist / Food Service Tech. This full-time role blends food preparation, cooking, meal service, and dining support in a healthcare setting.
Responsibilities
- Prepare meals and menu items according to recipes, production sheets, portion standards, and therapeutic diet requirements.
- Maintain appropriate food temperatures, quality, presentation, and portion control.
- Prepare meal trays and help ensure meals are delivered accurately and on time.
- Assist with dining room setup, meal service, and cleanup.
- Follow special dietary instructions and therapeutic diet requirements as directed.
- Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and food service equipment.
- Maintain clean and sanitary kitchen, dining, storage, and food preparation areas.
- Receive, rotate, label, and properly store food and supplies.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, infection control, safety, and NHC procedures.
- Communicate effectively with dietary leadership and fellow team members.
- Provide courteous service to patients, residents, families, visitors, and fellow partners.
- Assist with additional dietary and food service duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Previous cooking, culinary, food service, institutional dining, or health care food service experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation practices.
- Ability to follow recipes, menus, production instructions, and dietary requirements.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Dependable, organized, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Willingness to assist with both culinary and food service responsibilities as needed.
