As a Culinary Server, you will play an important role in all phases of serving that meet or exceed Buckner's quality, service, and hospitality standards. Responsibilities
- Possess great guest relations and communication skills.
- Deliver hospitality and enhance every guest experience.
- Navigate through the menu and describe featured menu items, demonstrating extensive menu knowledge.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders and send them to the kitchen accurately via the point-of-sale system.
- Partner with all associates to serve food and beverages promptly.
- Perform all side-work duties assigned and maintain cleanliness and sanitation in all dining areas and some kitchen areas.
- Work successfully as part of a team.
- Receive and store groceries, frozen food, produce, etc.; date and rotate canned goods.
- Detect, correct, or report situations that have a possibility of causing accidents or injuries to residents or others.
- Observe and report resident symptoms, reactions, and changes.
Requirements
- Completes and meets required training and certification requirements of Buckner and governing authorities (e.g., food handler's certificate).
- Ability to read, write, and understand business documents written in English.
- Ability to communicate verbally with residents, families, visitors, and co-workers.
- Ability to make self clearly understood by others.
- Ability to understand and follow basic written and oral step-by-step instructions.
- Ability to move food serving and preparation equipment as needed, using up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force continuously.
- Ability to turn, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull, handle, stand, and walk over 75% of shift.
- Ability to safely utilize kitchen equipment and recognize differences in sound generated by equipment or machinery which may indicate operation problems or safety concerns.
- Ability to work under close supervision performing routine, standardized tasks.
- Ability to perform tasks with due consideration for residents in vicinity and cooperate with other employees.
