Essential Duties
- Assist in meal preparation and portion allocation according to the menu and weekly schedule
- Complete resident checklist and report results to cook or Culinary Director (CD)
- Auxiliary in meal service in accordance with sanitation standards
- Inform CD of any substandard food quality
- Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas
- Monitor food and beverage to ensure proper temperature
- Buss tables and wash dishes using the full hands in, full hands out method
- Clean equipment as assigned
- Maintain dining room and kitchen area in clean condition, in accordance with community procedures
- Prepare, handle, store, and dispose of food in accordance with state and federal regulations
- Clean workspaces, cooking and serving equipment, trays, and dishes according to standards
- Load and unload the dishwasher, store clean equipment and dishes properly
Work Experience Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent required
- Successful completion of all ServSafe educational requirements
- Excellent organizational, time-management and computer skills
- Enthusiasm and a positive attitude
- Work independently, maintain confidentiality and professionalism, and be a positive leader
- Demonstrate practical interpersonal skills as well as sound judgment and good decision-making skills
- Maintain good working relationships with residents and co-workers
- Proper proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office)
- Ability to lift, push, or pull 50 pounds and bend, twist, stoop, kneel, and reach and sit for long periods
- Willingness to perform additional duties as assigned
