About the Role
The Culinary Receiver will be responsible for receiving, inspecting, and inventorying food and beverage products at the Club. This role works closely with the Culinary, Food and Beverage, and Events departments to ensure inventory controls and satisfaction. You will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employees.
Responsibilities
- Receive and inspect products, accurately label items, and report any discrepancies in reconciliation of deliveries and invoices.
- Check invoices for accuracy of delivery and communicate with chefs regarding any shortages.
- Organize and store all incoming products in assigned locations, applying FIFO (first in, first out) inventory controls for perishable products.
- Use company vehicles, carts, wagons, manual pallet jack, electric pallet jack, and/or forklifts.
- Pick inventory to assemble orders of product, supplies, and equipment for requisitions or established par levels.
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to meet accuracy and production standards.
- Load, unload, and transport products and materials to different areas of the warehouse and/or other locations, which may require use of carts, powered industrial vehicles (PIV), or motor vehicles.
- Conduct routine physical inventory counts based on established location schedules.
- Accurately complete administrative duties including records such as inventory count documents, temperature and spoilage logs, equipment inspections, and other relevant business records.
- Clean work areas as assigned, including restrooms, break areas, loading dock, and freight platform delivery areas.
- Implement all location safety policies, OSHA requirements, SDS standards, and emergency procedures.
- Use all required safety equipment and personal protective equipment.
- Take appropriate measures to ensure the security of client and company assets.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school education or equivalent is preferred.
- 2 years of previous experience with resorts, hotels, country clubs, etc., highly preferred.
- Experience with large expansive resort communities.
- Ability to make effective decisions in difficult situations while maintaining a positive outlook and demeanor.
- Ability to handle member/guest complaints and concerns, and seek innovative ways to ensure positive member experiences.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Shift greater than eight (8) hours in length may be required due to business demands.
- Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to stay calm and focused during busy times.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.
