About the Role
Boar’s Head Brand is seeking a dynamic professional with a strong knowledge and passion for the food and foodservice industry. In this role, you will build and maintain positive recognition of the Boar's Head Brand across all industry segments, serving as a resource to internal and external customers, including Purveyors, Channel Business Development Managers (CBDM), and Operators. Reporting to the Sr. Culinary Development Manager, you will collaborate with your supervisor, the CBDM team, and other stakeholders to drive relationship development and product marketing, increasing new business opportunities and contributing to the foodservice division’s success.
Responsibilities
- Support the Culinary Development Team with operations for the Foodservice Culinary Lab, including maintenance, cleaning, supplies, inventory control, operations, and security.
- Coordinate cross-functionally with supply chain, culinary, marketing, operations, training, and sales teams to integrate recipe development plans and new product rollouts efficiently and profitably.
- Conduct product demonstrations and training activities.
- Execute recipe development and menu integration.
- Coordinate and attend regional, national, and association-specific food shows.
- Develop relationships with Purveyors, Operators, and the Sales Team.
- Support local activities and generate ideas to promote brand awareness.
- Assist in the launch of new products via trade shows and recipes.
- Handle sample requests and follow up in collaboration with marketing.
- Maintain an active, up-to-date calendar of events and activities (e.g., training dates, trade shows).
- Provide regular reporting on menu and product performance, identifying opportunities and strategies to improve revenue and awareness among the Top 50 products.
- Support Boar’s Head Purveyors and Channel Sales Managers to meet or exceed individual and team goals.
- Research and develop value proposition playbooks tailored to channel and operator type.
- Actively support the training and development team in Sarasota and New York with best practices, routinely sharing insights with the internal network.
- Engage in culinary stewardship within the local community and culinary schools.
- Network with professional affiliations (ACF, WCR, Catersource) to showcase Boar’s Head’s commitment to culinary arts and drive business development.
- Support the Food Service team with trend and industry information from external sources such as ACF, NRA, RCA, Catersource, and public publications.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Culinary or Hospitality (BA/BS) Degree or related discipline.
- ACF Certification or similar preferred.
- 5-7 years of culinary experience in the hospitality or restaurant industry.
- Understanding of the differences between premium brands and value drivers.
Skills
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and proficiency with email and cell phones.
- Strong organizational skills, including time and project management, with the ability to prioritize tasks based on business needs.
- Self-starter with the ability to analyze, develop solutions, and initiate problem-solving with minimal direction.
- Ability to coordinate off-site training sessions and communicate effectively with on-site management and Purveyors.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for engaging with all levels of the organization, particularly Purveyors, Channel Business Development teams, and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage and control budgets.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in teams.
- Adherence to corporate policies as required.
