About the role
Casa Loma Beach Hotel is seeking a Culinary Curator to join our kitchen/food & beverage department. This role offers opportunities for career growth in hospitality, culinary, and food & beverage.
Responsibilities
- Assembles and creates visually appealing and flavorful charcuterie and grazing boards featuring a curated selection of cheeses, meats, fruits, and other accompanying items.
- Maintains a clean and well-organized food preparation and storage space, adhering to country food handler’s program standards and promoting a safe and sanitary environment.
- Washes and stores dishes, utensils, glassware, and equipment, ensuring cleanliness and efficiency in kitchen operations.
- Learns and identifies guest food preferences and dietary restrictions to accommodate personalized service, enhancing guest satisfaction.
- Executes proper food preparation techniques according to property standards and training, developing culinary skills for career advancement.
- Notifies leadership of product inventory and levels to ensure appropriate ordering of items.
- Delivers food to guests and property public spaces as needed, providing timely and friendly service.
- Prepares guest amenities, including set up and delivery.
- Upholds sanitation and safety protocols, including proper food handling, allergy awareness, and cleaning practices, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Engages with guests to provide exceptional customer service, addressing questions or special requests to enhance their overall experience.
- Participates in training sessions to stay updated on property standards, food safety regulations, and new menu items, fostering personal growth and knowledge in the field.
- Maintains equipment and kitchen tools for maintenance needs or malfunctions, reporting issues promptly to avoid disruptions.
- Assists with receiving deliveries of food & beverage products and ensures proper storage, including temperature and shelf-life checks, safeguarding product quality.
- Assists with setting up and breaking down events or functions when required, contributing to the success of property events.
- Collaborates with the food & beverage team to ensure seamless operations and high-quality guest experiences, promoting a supportive and dynamic team environment.
Qualifications
- Previous culinary or food & beverage experience preferred.
- Food Handler's Card.
- Ability to follow instructions and have an eye for detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 80 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodations.
