Culinary Cook - Full Time - Days - Eventide Lincoln

Eventide Lincoln in Lincoln, NE is seeking a full-time Culinary Cook with a schedule of 6:30 AM – 2:00 PM, including weekend and holiday rotations.

Responsibilities

• Prepares food in large quantities for living communities, Eventide Residences, Meals on Wheels, and/or catering in accordance with federal, state, and corporate standards.
• Follows basic recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other food products.
• Operates kitchen equipment to measure, mix, wash, peel, cut, shred, and trim ingredients for culinary use.
• Provides personalized service during guest interactions.
• Estimates food requirements, checks production, and keeps records to plan production and requisition supplies.
• Assists with unloading, receiving, and stocking food and supply deliveries.
• Cleans and sanitizes major kitchen equipment by completing daily and weekly cleaning assignments.
• Assists in training new cooks, improving recipes, and monitoring use of leftovers.

Requirements

• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English, including medical terminology related to the job.
• Physical ability to access the work area and safely perform duties, including unrestricted lift/push/pull ability of 50 pounds.
• Vision and hearing within normal limits (with or without correction).
• Proficiency in using standard and specialized kitchen equipment (e.g., steam jacket, Rational Ovens, convection ovens, grills, fryers, mixers, food processors, refrigerators, freezers, and food service software).
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Two years of experience in quantity food production in a healthcare facility or similar setting preferred.
• Prep/Cook Level Food Handler Permit required for Eventide campuses in Lancaster County.
• Must meet Eventide's vaccination requirements.

Pay

Competitive starting pay range of $17.50–$19.60 per hour, based on qualifications, experience, and location. Shift premiums and differentials are available for select positions.
