About the role

Eventide Prairie Commons in Grand Island, NE is seeking a Culinary Assistant / Server to work 6a-2:30p.

Responsibilities

• Prepares food to order in the dining room as requested by Senior/client.
• Assists with serving meals to residents following diet orders and requests while providing outstanding customer service during guest interactions.
• Assists cook in preparing food items for meal service in large quantities.
• Follows recipes according to appropriate safe food handling procedures, using food service equipment.
• Ensures accurate and timely documentation related to food production, quality, and food safety.
• Ensures food and products are properly acquired, stored, dated and rotated.
• Handles trash and sweeps and mops kitchen floor.
• Assists with maintaining a clean and orderly kitchen, storeroom, cold storage areas, hallways, and dock areas, completing cleaning checklists, as directed.
• Aids in unloading, receiving, and stocking food/supply deliveries from the food delivery trucks when needed.
• Performs work duties within the assigned work environment related to the position, as assigned by Eventide, regardless of TEAMember preference.
• Performs tasks according to established time measures and standards.

Requirements

• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the English language including medical terminology related to the job.
• Ability to gain access to the work area and then safely perform the duties of the job.
• Vision and hearing within normal limits (with or without correction).
• Must have unrestricted lift/push/pull ability of 32 - pounds, demonstrating strength and agility at Eventide’s discretion.

Qualifications

• At least age 16.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Six months of experience in sanitation work in health care or food preparation facility preferred.

Skills

• Food Handler Permit required for Eventide campuses in Lancaster County.
• Must meet Eventide’s vaccination requirements.

Pay

Compensation at Eventide, we value our employees and offer a competitive starting pay range of $15-16.80 per hour for Culinary Assistants based on qualifications, experience, and location. Shift premiums and differentials are also available, for select positions, paid on employment status and shift worked.
