Job Overview

York Gardens Senior Living is located in the vibrant Edina, MN community, offering 76 Assisted Living, Independent Living, and Memory Care apartments. This Culinary Assistant/Server position provides dining room and to-go meal service to senior residents.

Responsibilities

• Serves meals and ensures the dining area is clean and inviting.
• Follows meal serving schedule and procedures.
• Offers resident meal choices and meets specific dietary needs.
• Uses proper safety and sanitation techniques.
• Fulfills the dining room cleaning schedule and procedures.
• Fulfills proper work flow to stay on task.
• Learns and becomes proficient with EMenu System and restaurant style service.
• Ensures all dishes (including flatware, drinkware, etc.) are washed, sanitized, and put away before the end of the shift.
• Promotes and encourages positive resident relations and satisfaction.
• Welcome residents and initiate conversation.
• Accommodate resident requests such as food substitutions, seating changes, etc.
• Respond appropriately to any complaints and refer issues to the Executive Director and Culinary Director as necessary.

Requirements

Casual hours schedule - help fill in for shifts ahead of time and for last-minute needs. Days and early evening shifts available, weekday and weekend.

Qualifications

• Less than 1 year of experience.
• Less than high school education.

Preferred Qualifications

• Less than high school education.
• No formal education.

Pay

Compensation within the posted range may be determined by various factors, including skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions. The hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical. If your role is eligible for a sign-on bonus, the bonus program that is approved and in place at the time of offer will be honored.
