Culinary Arts Chef Manager Non-Tenure Track Faculty - Gallatin College (Applicant Pool)

About the role

Gallatin College seeks qualified individuals to provide non-tenurable level instruction and/or related functions. The department or program search committees or hiring authority will review and evaluate the submitted application materials. Applicants will be notified if their application is being retained in the non-tenure track faculty hiring pool.

Responsibilities

  • Estimate food production and purchase food
  • Select and develop recipes to work with lesson plans and ensure quality
  • Ensure proper equipment operation/maintenance and safety and sanitation in the kitchen
  • Maintain inventory system for food and supplies
  • Supervise food storage, production and course needs
  • Plan menus, purchase food and supplies, and assign duties for special meals or events
  • Provide orientation and job specific training to employees and students
  • Provide instruction to students on general kitchen management including the functions listed above
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Occupational experience in the field is required
  • Demonstrated experience working with and engaging students and colleagues within and outside the department

Preferred Qualifications

  • Culinary School Degree
  • American Culinary Federation Certification
  • Demonstrated commitment to student, faculty, and staff enrichment

  • Work professionally and effectively with individuals and groups
  • Possess effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Have the ability to contribute positively to the academic success of the students and the mission of Gallatin College Montana State University
