About the role

Plans and provides appropriate classroom learning experiences for students in the following courses: Introduction to Office Productivity, Office Productivity Applications, Digital Literacy, Computer Science Discoveries, Coding in Minecraft, and Career Exploration (Computer Science Related). Creates an atmosphere conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of students to ensure success for every student. Supervises students in various school settings, monitors and evaluates student outcomes, and communicates with students, parents, staff, and the community.

Responsibilities

• Serves as an Adviser/co-Adviser for the school's chapter of Future Business Leaders of America.
• Utilizes assessment strategies (traditional and alternative) aligned with Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) curriculum and standards to support student development.
• Ensures effective communication with students, parents, and stakeholders.
• Engages in continuous professional development for self, school, and the district.
• Uses techniques and strategies that promote critical and creative thinking.
• Implements instructional strategies and materials tailored to students' cultures, learning styles, special needs, and socio-economic backgrounds.
• Establishes a classroom management system that fosters a positive learning environment, student engagement, and self-motivation.
• Plans, aligns, implements, and evaluates instruction and assessment in various learning environments.
• Collaborates with peers, parents, community, and stakeholders to improve classroom experiences.
• Integrates technology into teaching and learning processes.
• Ensures adherence to safety procedures.
• Performs other assigned duties.

Requirements

• Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Apps.
• Knowledge of curriculum integration, policies, and effective instructional practices.
• Effective time management and organizational skills.
• Strategic problem-solving skills using multiple data points.
• Ability to prepare course objectives and outlines following state and school guidelines.
• Ability to provide instruction reflecting multiple perspectives and multicultural education.
• Ability to infuse technology into the curriculum.
• Ability to monitor student safety, particularly during inclusive activities.
• Ability to motivate and inspire students.
• Ability to maintain a clean, orderly, and disciplined classroom environment.
• Ability to maintain records and communicate clearly in oral and written form.
• Ability to establish effective working relationships with staff, students, parents, external agencies, vendors, and the community.

Qualifications

Education, Training, and Experience:

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, ICT, Computer Science Education, STEM Education, Mathematics (with tech integration), Instructional/Educational Technology, Business Administration, Management, or Entrepreneurship.
• Two years of related work experience OR an Associate’s degree with four years of related work experience.

Certification and License:

• Hold or be qualified to hold a North Carolina Professional Educator’s License in the teaching content area per NCDPI CTE manual.

Preferred Qualifications

• Current Intuit QuickBooks certification.

Schedule

Monday–Friday (occasional evenings and weekends).

Work Environment

Classroom environment with frequent sitting and standing. Routine use of standard office equipment such as computers, scanners, and copiers. Light physical work, requiring exertion of up to 25 pounds. Direct contact with staff, students, parents, external agencies, and the community.
