About the role
This position is for the 26/27 school year. External applicants will be considered after internal bidding process completion. Internal candidates should follow the provided link to bid internally.
Responsibilities
- Teach Agriculture Science courses aligned with state standards and curriculum requirements.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Assess student progress and provide feedback to improve learning outcomes.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement interdisciplinary projects.
- Maintain accurate records and report student performance data as required.
- Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
Requirements
- Hold (or be eligible to obtain) a CTE teaching certificate with appropriate endorsements.
- Complete an approved CTE Plan 1 or 2 teacher preparation program in Agriculture Education.
- Have a bachelor's degree and 3 years of full-time occupational experience-based endorsements.
- Successfully complete the Washington Educator Skills Test Endorsement (WEST-E) or equivalent content knowledge test.
- Pass criminal background check and fingerprinting with WSP and FBI.
- Obtain CPR/First Aid/AED and OSHA Trainer certifications.
- Verify 2,000 hours of non-teaching occupational experience in Agriculture Education.
- Or have 6,000 hours of occupational experience in Natural Resources, Urban Forestry, Agriculture Power and Technology, Agroecology and Sustainability, respectively.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Knowledge of agricultural science principles and practices.
- Experience with technology integration in the classroom.
Skills
- Effective classroom management skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Proficiency in using educational technology tools.
