About the role

Responsible for overseeing Carl Perkins Federal and State Priority Grants for assigned eligible recipients including assisting with training, grant application development, processing, review and monitoring to ensure compliance. Occasional in-state and out-of-state travel is required for this position.

The Arizona Department of Education currently utilizes a hybrid work environment, with up to two days of remote work (contingent upon business needs). Candidates should apply with an ability and willingness to work in-office up to five days per week as business needs necessitate. Across our many agencies, boards, and commissions, many State employees participate in the State’s Remote Work Program and are able to work remotely in their homes, in offices, and in hoteling spaces. All work, including remote work, should be performed within Arizona unless an exception is properly authorized in advance.

Responsibilities

• Provide services to grant recipients in the planning, development, organization, implementation and evaluation of Career and Technical Education programs (including supplemental services for Special Populations participating in CTE).
• Independently provide Local Educational Agencies technical assistance, training, and leadership to develop new or modify existing CTE programs to meet the requirements of the Carl Perkins V Act.
• Complete monitoring, reporting, and evaluation of assigned entities and their Career and Technical Education programs.
• Develop and facilitate internal and external training related to grant development and management as directed by supervisor.
• Implement established laws, rules, regulations, and provide leadership regarding Carl Perkins legislation and CTE State Priority funding.
• Support Perkins accountability by ensuring sub-recipients complete required elements in the CTE Data portal.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Education, Public Administration, or equivalent experience to substitute for the degree.
• Knowledge of federal and state rules and regulations relating to grant funding.
• Experience in budget development and analysis, planning procedures, grant development, grant processing, and monitoring to ensure compliance.
• Ability to develop projects, evaluate successfully funded projects, and provide leadership and technical assistance to grant recipients.

Qualifications

Preference will be given to applicants with knowledge and experience of Career and Technical Education Programs.

Offers are contingent upon successful completion of all background and reference checks, required documents and, if applicable, a post-offer medical/physical evaluation. Pay

$63,000-$66,000
