About the role

This position may be filled as a Clinical Support Assistant (CSA) or Care Team Associate Level 1, 2, or 3, depending on individual experience, certifications, education, and other qualifications. Special Benefits Sign-on bonus up to $2,000 for qualified individuals.

Responsibilities

  • Systmatically and continually monitors the patient’s health status and implements the plan of care.
  • Carrries out physician and nursing orders as directed by the RN that is within scope.
  • Takes/records blood pressures, temperatures, pulse and weighs patients.
  • Performs blood glucose monitoring.
  • Sets up and discontinues telemetry monitor.
  • Collections specimens as directed.
  • Applies sterile dressings, removal of sutures, staples and/or drains.
  • Performs all sterile procedures as assigned.
  • Performs stomal irrigation and applies colostomy pouches.
  • Performs oral suctioning.
  • Reports symptoms and significant changes in patient’s condition or behavior to RN.
  • Aids in admission, discharge and transfer process.
  • Transports patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary; assists transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs.
  • Keeps the patient’s room in clean and orderly condition; makes beds, replaces soiled linen.
  • Aids in restocking rooms with supplies and equipment as directed.
  • When assigned to one patient as a safety attendant, provides care, observes the patient and does not leave the patient alone.
  • May precept new CTAs.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or GED required.
  • No experience required.
  • Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required.
  • Certified Patient Care Technician (CPCT) OR Patient Care Technician (PCTC) OR Advanced Unlicensed Assistant (AUA) required.

  • Knowledge of basic nursing techniques and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relations with others.
