About the role
The Computed Tomography Technologist II provides high-quality patient care during CT procedures using approved workflows and procedural protocols. This role works under general supervision and uses specialized computerized x-ray equipment to produce cross-sectional images of the human anatomy.
Responsibilities
- Operates head or body x-ray scanners to create computer generated cross-sectional images (CAT scans).
- Performs routine and special CT exams adhering to established protocols to minimize additional imaging and limit radiation dose, maintaining exam productivity within established benchmarks.
- Completes all exams and documentation in Computerized Health Information (CHL) and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), accurately identifying all charges associated with studies and addressing errors for a seamless workflow.
- Educates and prepares patients for their examinations to enhance patient understanding and cooperation during testing and promote a positive patient experience.
- Demonstrates commitment to safe practices, Just Culture, and As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) principles to eliminate errors and enhance patient outcomes.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; Graduate of a Radiology, Imaging or related educational program.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years.
Qualifications
- Licensure/Certification/Listing: BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider. Will accept any of the following licenses: ARRT: RT(R)(CT), RT(N)(CT); NMTCB: CNMT, NMTCB(CT); Combination: ARRT RT(N) and NMTCB(CT) OR CNMT and ARRT(CT) OR ARRT RT(R) and NMTCB(CT) OR ARRT RT(T) and NMTCB(CT).
