About the Role
This is a PRN (as-needed) opportunity at Summit Diagnostic Imaging Center at Wellington.
Responsibilities
- Prepares patients for CT procedures using universal precautions.
- Provides pertinent information to the radiologist to contribute to the plan of care.
- Discusses the CT procedure process with patients and obtains signatures for consent forms and other required paperwork.
- Obtains high-quality CT scans with appropriate measurements, windows, and special functions for radiologist interpretation.
- Monitors intravenous contrast injections and operates the CT injector.
- Ensures radiation protection for patients in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Makes sound decisions on technical or patient-related problems within scope of practice.
- Assists in quality control of equipment by contacting appropriate personnel and notifying supervisors as needed.
- Maintains daily patient logs, compiles monthly statistical data, and assists with documentation and reporting.
- Maintains cleanliness and order of the CT department and equipment, using proper cleaning techniques and disposing of contaminated materials safely.
- Manages inventory, stocks supplies, and orders as needed.
- Performs duties courteously and cooperatively with coworkers, management, and the public.
- Demonstrates current competencies related to the job position, maintains CPR certification, CME requirements, and technical certification.
- Adheres to all aspects of the company’s Corporate Compliance Program and maintains strict confidentiality.
- Actively participates in site-level Quality Improvement Activities, contributing to performance evaluation and implementation of improvement measures.
- Performs related tasks as requested by the supervisor.
Requirements
- Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology, Radiation Therapy, or Nuclear Medicine.
- Current state license in CT technology.
- Two years’ experience in CT technology preferred.
