About the role

We are currently seeking a Florida-licensed CT Technologist to join our team on a PRN basis at HCA Florida Northside Hospital. As a CT Technologist, you will be competent in performing a wide range of CT examinations, including brain, total spine, facial, sinus, orbits, thorax, abdomen, pelvis, upper/lower extremities, sella, and biopsies. We prioritize patient care, and this role offers an opportunity to contribute to a dedicated healthcare team.

Responsibilities

Select proper technical factors for studies and perform diagnostic CT examinations accurately in a caring, compassionate, and respectful manner.
Demonstrate operational knowledge of the CT scanner, pressure injector, resuscitation equipment, laser filmer, and teleradiology system.
Assist in the administration of contrast media and related procedures.
Prepare, transfer, and position patients as needed, ensuring modesty and safety while utilizing auxiliary equipment.
Document all pertinent clinical information prior to exams, obtain informed consent, and complete required fields within MEDITECH accurately and on time.
Obtain high-quality CT images, ensuring only optimal images are submitted for interpretation.
Remain proficient in executing software protocols and stay updated with changes in the field through in-service study, courses, or seminars.
Maintain proactive and effective communication with patients and other caregivers, including radiologists.
Check equipment operation, maintain cleanliness to prevent cross-contamination, and keep the room stocked with linens and necessary supplies.
Accept on-call and call-back responsibilities as needed to provide optimum patient care.

Requirements

Completion of a 2-year/Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology at an accredited, AMA-approved institution.
Valid ARRT (CT) certification.
Clear/active Florida Department of Health licensure (CRT).
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Minimum of 1 year of current/recent experience in diagnostic radiology (X-Ray), preferably in an acute-care hospital setting.

Skills

Ability to perform work requiring frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, and/or lifting patients/equipment up to 100 lbs.
