CT Technologist PRN
About the role
We are currently seeking a Florida-licensed CT Technologist to join our team on a PRN basis at HCA Florida Northside Hospital. As a CT Technologist, you will be competent in performing a wide range of CT examinations, including brain, total spine, facial, sinus, orbits, thorax, abdomen, pelvis, upper/lower extremities, sella, and biopsies. We prioritize patient care, and this role offers an opportunity to contribute to a dedicated healthcare team.
Responsibilities
- Select proper technical factors for studies and perform diagnostic CT examinations accurately in a caring, compassionate, and respectful manner.
- Demonstrate operational knowledge of the CT scanner, pressure injector, resuscitation equipment, laser filmer, and teleradiology system.
- Assist in the administration of contrast media and related procedures.
- Prepare, transfer, and position patients as needed, ensuring modesty and safety while utilizing auxiliary equipment.
- Document all pertinent clinical information prior to exams, obtain informed consent, and complete required fields within MEDITECH accurately and on time.
- Obtain high-quality CT images, ensuring only optimal images are submitted for interpretation.
- Remain proficient in executing software protocols and stay updated with changes in the field through in-service study, courses, or seminars.
- Maintain proactive and effective communication with patients and other caregivers, including radiologists.
- Check equipment operation, maintain cleanliness to prevent cross-contamination, and keep the room stocked with linens and necessary supplies.
- Accept on-call and call-back responsibilities as needed to provide optimum patient care.
Requirements
- Completion of a 2-year/Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology at an accredited, AMA-approved institution.
- Valid ARRT (CT) certification.
- Clear/active Florida Department of Health licensure (CRT).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum of 1 year of current/recent experience in diagnostic radiology (X-Ray), preferably in an acute-care hospital setting.
Skills
- Ability to perform work requiring frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, and/or lifting patients/equipment up to 100 lbs.
