Responsibilities
- Obtain quality CT images of patients following established scanning protocols and adjust protocols as required.
- Comply with radiation safety guidelines for patient and self; appropriately utilize Personal Prote Equipment.
- Operate CT scanner safely and competently; perform all necessary computer operations (e.g., Meditech).
- Ensure proper charges are entered and referring physicians' orders are verified.
- Render patient care in a professional and courteous manner.
- Prepare examination rooms for CT scan and/or invasive procedures; monitor inventory of supplies and maintain room cleanliness.
- Assist the radiologist in administering medication, contrast agents, performing biopsies, and all types of patient care.
- Review each exam for technical accuracy (e.g., technical quality, anatomical positioning, annotation) and complete verification process in PACS.
- Assist Facility System Administrator and CT Supervisor with PACS clean up (e.g., unarchived images, verifications, and reporting unspecified images).
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding employees and patients according to HIPAA Policy and Procedure.
- Complete and maintain personal educational requirements.
Requirements
- Graduate of AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology.
- Responsible for continuing education credits as mandated by the ARRT for licensure.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) certification.
- CT Technology Certification (required within 6 months of hire).
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification.
- One year of experience as a CT technologist (preferred).
