CT Technologist (PRN)

This position is designated as safety sensitive and cannot be filled by a candidate who is a current user of medical marijuana.

About the Role

Is developing the knowledge to perform quality CT exams in a safe and timely manner while providing excellent patient care.

Responsibilities

• Verifies exams as ordered by physician.
• Developing the knowledge to perform correct scan protocols in an effort to decrease radiation exposure to patients.
• Developing knowledge of and adherence to all radiation safety recommendations, including patient shielding (ALARA).
• Developing knowledge to properly administer IV and oral contrast.
• Developing ability to explain exams/procedures to patients and families.
• Ensures that work area is properly maintained.
• Developing knowledge of current or new and evolving technologies in CT.
• Maintains equipment and requests service as needed.
• Complies with all TJC, state, federal, and local regulatory laws, standards, and protocols.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college program or technical school or nursing diploma (required).
• Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university (recommended).
• Direct work experience: No experience required (pediatric experience recommended).

Qualifications

• One of the following certifications must be obtained within one year:
  • ARRT-(R)(N)(CT) – American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT)
  • Radiologic Technologist License – Arkansas Department of Health
• ARRT – Computed Tomography (CT) (recommended).
• Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) – Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (recommended).
