About the role
Performs CT procedures to acquire diagnostic images, applying advanced technology and protocols to support physicians in diagnosis and treatment. Ensures patient safety by following guidelines, maintaining dose data, and notifying when scan levels exceed preset thresholds.
Responsibilities
- Operate CT scanners, power injectors, and computer systems to produce high‑quality images.
- Maintain proficiency across multiple CT systems and locations.
- Follow protocols based on safety guidelines and dose management, including Image Gently standards.
- Utilize knowledge of clinical histories and anatomy for thoracic, abdominal, pelvic, neuro, and musculoskeletal scans.
- Prepare and position patients, ensure proper immobilization, shielding, and technical settings.
- Perform CT interventional procedures and advanced CTA imaging, including TAVR, EVAR, and cardiac studies.
- Understand pharmacology and physiology to optimize scans and patient safety.
- Apply physics knowledge to minimize patient dose and enhance image quality.
Requirements
- Graduation from a Specialty Training Program.
- Ability to work in a clinical setting and adhere to all policies and procedures.
- Additional department‑specific skills may be necessary for optimal performance.
