About the role
The CT Technologist performs high-quality CT scans by applying ionizing radiation, assisting physicians in technical decisions, and ensuring accurate imaging. They produce diagnostic images, understand cross-sectional anatomy, operate scanners and computer systems, and identify pathologies with precise measurements.
Responsibilities
- Prepare films and manage contrast materials
- Obtain patient histories and coordinate with radiologists on protocols
- Operate CT scanners and associated computer systems
- Apply ionizing radiation in accordance with safety protocols
- Assist physicians in making technical decisions
- Ensure adherence to privacy policies and safety standards
Requirements
- Graduation from an approved ACR school
- At least five years of CT experience
- Active ARRT registration and CPR certification
- Proficiency in venipuncture
- Physical stamina and manual dexterity
Skills
- Professionalism and strong patient interaction
- Ability to adapt to various clinical situations
- Understanding of cross-sectional anatomy and pathology identification
Work Environment
