About the Role
As a full-time CT Technologist, you will maintain a thorough working knowledge of all CT equipment to achieve high-quality diagnostic exams, staying aware of the latest advances in CT technology. You will act as an agent to obtain pertinent information for physicians, ensuring patient care and service are delivered without discrimination. You will also play a vital role in keeping the department running smoothly, including ordering supplies, building protocols, and scheduling exams.
Responsibilities
- Maintain knowledge of CT equipment operation, emergency equipment, and ancillary equipment.
- Obtain and communicate pertinent patient information to aid in diagnosis and treatment.
- Use equipment and techniques to minimize radiation exposure while maintaining accepted standards of practice.
- Administer Basic Life Support and first aid in emergencies, including basic IV skills.
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of physiology, cross-sectional anatomy, and post-processing software.
- Independently scan routine and specialized CT exams, including:
- Routine: CT Calcium Score, CTA Head/Neck, CTA Chest R/O PE, CTA Abdomen Pelvis, CTA Runoff.
- Specialized: CTA Coronary, CTA TAVI, CTA TAA, CTA Ablation/Watchman, CTA Upper Extremity, Virtual Colon, Rectal Contrast.
- Demonstrate competency in all 7 specialized exams and CT department protocols (scheduling, contrast administration, allergic reactions, premedications, IV infiltrates).
- Order supplies, build protocols, collect LDCT data for registry, and provide virtual colon preparation.
- Approve and schedule CT exams per department protocol, perform basic reformats, and adjust scanning protocols for diagnostic imaging.
- Ensure smooth patient flow and serve as a resource to clinic staff and technologists.
- Fill in as Lead CT Technologist when needed.
Requirements
- ARRT (CT) certification.
- 6+ years of CT experience as a staff CT Technologist performing and post-processing CTA and other specialty exams.
- Satisfactory completion of an AMA-accredited program.
- ARRT certification in CT and RT.
- Current certification with State of Florida Radiation Control (HRS).
- CPR and BLS certifications.
Schedule
Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM.
