Position Overview

Competently performs routine and specialized computerized tomography procedures to produce quality images for physicians and other health care providers for the diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, and prevention of injury or disease. Works independently, exercising sound judgment and developed clinical skills to execute safe and precise procedures to deliver accurate results in a timely manner. Gains confidence and cooperation from the patient, their family/support group, and other healthcare providers through competent patient assessment, attentive monitoring, and effective communication. Adheres to all local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care. May also be responsible for performing specific procedures and/or may help orient other staff to the department.

Education & Certification

  • Graduation from a JRCERT-accredited Radiologic Technologist Program (required prior to start date)
  • CRT-Certified Radiologic Technologist (from the state where work is being performed, required prior to start date)
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification
  • RHF-Radiology Fluoroscopy certification (within 180 days of hire if required at the affiliate)
  • SGMF-CVENI-Certified Venipuncture Skills (department-specific requirement)

Responsibilities & Skills

  • General knowledge of diagnostic computerized tomography principles, procedures, views, and equipment, including experience responding to traumas and hospital emergencies
  • Perform routine CT examinations with a basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical individuals
  • Well-developed time management and organizational skills to prioritize assignments and work within standardized operating procedures
  • Proficiency with computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and related information systems (Radiology (RIS), laboratory (LIS), electronic health records (EHR), EPIC, and picture archive and communication system (PACS))
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions
  • Identify, evaluate, and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions from established options
  • Ensure the privacy of each patient’s protected health information (PHI)
  • Build collaborative relationships with peers and other healthcare providers to achieve departmental and corporate objectives

Schedule

  • Full-time (40 hours per week)
  • Evening/Night shift
  • Shift hours: 10
  • Days of the week: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
  • Weekend requirements: As needed

Pay

Pay range is $57.86 to $81.00 per hour. The compensation range may vary based on geographic location, candidate experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs.
