As a CT Technologist II at Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health Wiregrass Ranch Hospital, you will play a vital role in delivering safe, accurate, and compassionate care to patients while supporting physicians with high-quality diagnostic imaging. Wiregrass Ranch Hospital is a five-story, state-of-the-art multi-specialty facility spanning 380,000 square feet, designed to serve one of Florida’s fastest-growing communities with exceptional, outcomes-focused care. The hospital features 102 beds (expandable to 300), 9 advanced operating rooms including a hybrid OR with real-time imaging, and comprehensive services in cardiology, neurology, oncology, surgery, and more.

Responsibilities

• Exercise professional judgment in performance of services and maintain a demeanor complimentary to quality care.
• Deliver appropriate care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of procedures.
• Comply with all state and federal regulations applicable to each modality.
• Adhere to Orlando Health mission statements and strategic imperatives.
• Assess the patient’s physical condition and age-specific needs.
• Provide instructions that achieve patient cooperation and desired results.
• Perform proper patient identification, acquire patient’s clinical history, and ensure accurate documentation.
• Position patient, equipment, and associated devices; manipulate technical factors to achieve high-quality images for interpretation.
• Assess diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification, ensuring all relative anatomy is demonstrated.
• Apply principles of radiation safety to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
• Comprehend and comply with Quality Control standards and participate in all Quality Control tasks.
• Demonstrate proficiency in contrast medication administration with and without use of power injectors.
• Perform venipuncture and evaluate IV access for contrast administration as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
• Administer medical aid as required in cases of adverse reaction to contrast medication and/or other emergencies.
• Apply appropriate standard precautions and personal protective equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases.
• Assist in supervision of student technologists and training of new technologists.
• Utilize all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
• Ensure safety of all customers.
• Maintain reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies and applicable federal, state, and local standards.
• Maintain compliance with all Orlando Health policies, department guidelines, and education requirements.
• Maintain cleanliness of work area and equipment.
• Maintain well-stocked and organized work areas.
• Provide patient transport.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
• Valid Certified Radiologic Technologist licensure by the State of Florida.
• Valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification (R).
• Valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification (CT).
• Maintains current AHA BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years CT experience.
• Experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Advanced imaging experience and proficiency, including 3D Lab or IR imaging, or Cardiac imaging.
  • Site proctor/preceptor for onboarding new hires and cross-training.
  • Dual imaging roles, with current proficiency and routinely performing in a secondary modality.
