CT Technologist (Full-Time)

About the Role

As a CT Technologist at Hackensack Meridian Health, you will perform computed tomography procedures and related techniques, producing sectional and three-dimensional images for interpretation. You will also assist with interventional and therapeutic procedures. Eligible for up to $10,000 sign-on bonus for full-time CT Technologist positions on the Day or Evening shift who accept a job offer on or before October 22, 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Performs complex CT procedures.
  • Evaluates radiographs to ensure proper identification and diagnostic value.
  • Gathers relevant information from medical records, health care proxies, and providers to prepare scanning protocols and ensure patient safety.
  • Determines if the patient has been appropriately prepared for the procedure.
  • Prepares patients for scanning, including shielding and immobilization devices.
  • Assists providers with CT-guided interventional procedures as required.
  • Performs CT examinations and administers contrast following established departmental protocols.
  • Provides accurate explanations and instructions to patients at an understandable level.
  • Performs venipuncture, IV patency, and maintenance procedures according to established guidelines.
  • Monitors the patient's physical condition during procedures.
  • Reviews images to determine if additional scans are needed for diagnostic value.
  • Performs retrospective reconstruction on raw data.
  • Provides technical assistance and instruction to students, employees, and medical residents.
  • Adheres to the principles of Image Gently and Image Wisely.
  • Follows infection control guidelines and sterile techniques.
  • Revises scanning parameters to better visualize pathology in accordance with established protocols.
  • Reviews all diagnostic or therapeutic data for completeness and accuracy.
  • Documents diagnostic, treatment, and patient data in the appropriate record.
  • Archives images to data storage devices according to established guidelines.
  • Assesses equipment to determine acceptable performance based on established guidelines.
  • Performs daily clerical duties, including use of EPIC, PACS, Teletracking System, and other computer systems.
  • Greets patients upon arrival using AIDET standards.
  • Administers emergency care, including CPR if necessary.
  • Works scheduled shifts, including holidays and weekends; overtime as needed.
  • Participates in on-call assignments as required by the Department of Radiology policy.
  • Adheres to policies on Employee ID, Standards of Behavior, Attendance, and Punctuality.
  • Identifies and addresses the needs of diverse patient populations (e.g., age, culture, language, hearing, or visually impaired).
  • Adheres to the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies.
  • Performs modality-specific daily and monthly QA.
  • Completes other duties and/or projects as assigned.
  • Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
  • Lifts a minimum of 25 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 50 lbs., and stands a minimum of 6 hours a day.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), or equivalent.
  • Completion of an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

Qualifications

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT, CT) certification within 9 months of entering the position.
  • New Jersey state license for Diagnostic Radiology (D.R.).
  • AHA Basic Health Care Life Support (HCP) Certification within 60 days of entering the position.
