CT Technologist, Full Time 9p-7a Tuesday-Friday-25% Shift Differential
Job Summary
The CT Technologist is responsible for scanning patients, assisting other departments throughout the organization, learning about CT, cross training staff members from within Medical Imaging, and promoting CT services of Oswego Health.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Follows protocols and administers contrast material.
- Explains the procedure and answers patient questions or concerns.
- Operates CT and X-ray equipment by setting controls and adjusting as needed.
- Solves problems during patient exams.
- Positions patients for CT and X-ray exams according to standard procedures.
- Practices radiation safety for both the patient and colleagues.
- Performs Quality Assurance (QA) and other job-related duties such as cleaning and restocking.
Required Skills/Abilities (Unit Specific)
- Fulfills office policies and procedures, HIPAA, ACR, and NYS DOH requirements.
- Knowledge of Radiology operating systems like PACS, EMR, and RIS.
- Notifies appropriate personnel of equipment malfunctions.
- Performs other duties as required.
Education And Experience
- Associates Degree in Medical Radiography or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- NYS License and Registration (ARRT) required or eligible.
- Certificate of Contrast Injections or eligible.
- Current CPR certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
Working Conditions
- Prolonged periods of walking, standing, and frequent pulling, pushing, and bending.
- Attendance required to meet departmental requirements.
- Complies with DOH requirements for annual health assessments and required immunizations.
Base Pay Range
Base pay range is $34.00-$40.00/hr + 25% Night Shift Differential between 11p and 7a 10% Weekend Shift Differential.
Employee Salary
Employee salary is based on commensurate experience and other qualifications.
