About the role
The CT Technologist, under the direction of the Radiologist and Radiology Director, performs all Radiology/CT procedures in accordance with ACR, ARRT, state regulations, and departmental policies. Possesses highly technical skills to operate sophisticated equipment for the above mentioned examinations. Is able to perform the duties of an ARRT Technologist as required in addition to performing CT duties. The Technologist must exhibit expertise in patient care based on needs appropriate for all patient demographics.
Responsibilities
- Performs all Radiology/CT procedures in accordance with ACR, ARRT, state regulations, and departmental policies.
- Operates sophisticated equipment for the above mentioned examinations.
- Performs the duties of an ARRT Technologist as required.
- Exhibits expertise in patient care based on needs appropriate for all patient demographics.
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved and accredited A.R.R.T. program.
- Three years in Radiology and knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy.
- Demonstrated ability to remain flexible in a rapidly changing environment and current dynamic health care climate.
- Demonstrates the ability to plan, design, implement and evaluate one’s own work and to work independently with minimal observation or supervision.
- Human relation skills including the demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively and to work collaboratively with multiple coworkers of diverse cultures, educational backgrounds, and experience.
- Political process skills including the ability to build partnerships with physicians and others.
- Emotional maturity and ability to function effectively under stress.
- Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple demands/deadlines.
Qualifications
- Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) or obtain within 6 months.
- Licensed as a radiologic technologist by the SCRQSA.
- CPR certification required.
- CT certification preferred (ARRT-CT).
