General Summary
Performs all CT radiologic procedures at an advanced skills level. Performs procedures to produce computerized tomographic scanner radiographs of designated anatomical areas according to established practices and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Performs all CT Scan studies; obtains patient history, explains routine procedures and addresses patient concerns.
- Prepares and maintains written documentation as required by the profession and the department.
- EHR proficiency
- Under the direct supervision of the physician, administers intravenous contrast media.
- Recognizes complications (e.g., contrast reaction) and treats appropriately.
- Schedules cases to coordinate with other patient examinations.
- Positions and transfers patients comfortably, Immobilizes patients as necessary and practices radiation safety procedures.
- Preforms all basic to advanced CT examinations, reconstructions and Cardiovascular CT imaging.
- Independent workstation proficiency
- Delegates tasks as needed.
- On call requirements are defined separately by each hospital.
- Survey Readiness preparation/teaching, policy, and procedure training.
- 4C/Standard Work assistance
- Equipment knowledge and trouble shooting
- Mentor for CT Technician, CT Tech I, and CT Tech II
- Interdepartmental Involvement/assignments
Qualifications
- Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Work Experience: 4 years Progressive responsibility in a diagnostic imaging department.
- Required and Completed CT Tech II skill sets at a WellSpan facility.
- Required Licenses: Registered Technologist-Computed Tomography - ARRT, Certified in Computed Tomography - NMTCB, Basic Life Support
- Courses and Training: Accredited program in radiologic technology and training in computer tomography procedures.
