About the Role

The Computed Tomography Technologist (CT Technologist) is a highly skilled professional, confident in producing multiplane images for interpretation by the radiologist. The CT Technologist operates specialized computerized x-ray equipment to produce cross-sectional images of patients' human anatomy, aiding the radiologist in diagnosing a wide variety of diseases and disorders. They will be knowledgeable with the CT scanner and understand how to manipulate scans to accommodate patients’ size, motion, and reduce undesirable artifacts. All CT Technologists follow departmental policies and procedures regarding ALARA, possible pregnancy, and scanning protocols as directed by the radiologist. Taking stand-by may be necessary according to hospital needs. This is a journey-level position requiring at least two years of acute care hospital facility employment experience.

Requirements

• Formal training in an accredited Radiological program with an Associate’s degree in Radiology
• High school diploma or equivalent G.E.D.
• Minimum of two years full-time experience as a CT Technologist in an acute care hospital facility or completion of MarinHealth’s cross-training program

Licensure and Certifications

• Basic Life Support (required at hire)
• Radiologic Technologist (required at hire)
• Radiology Fluoroscopy (required at hire)
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (required at hire)
• Computed Tomography (CT) certification (required within 12 months of hire)
• Integrative Agitation Management (IAM) (required within 30 days of hire)

Prerequisite Skills

• Technical ability to perform all diagnostic radiography examinations as outlined in the MarinHealth Diagnostic Imaging Services department policy and procedure manual
• Demonstrated understanding of human cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, and medical terminology
• High degree of accuracy in positioning and exposure techniques
• Ability to interact with the general public, clients, staff, and referring physicians with diplomacy, tact, and goodwill
• Effective communication with patients under stress
• Participation in department team quality improvement activities

Compensation

The posted pay range is $65.15 - $90.75 per hour, reflecting what we reasonably expect to pay for this role. Individual pay is set by skills, experience, qualifications, and internal/market equity, consistent with MarinHealth’s compensation philosophy.
