Principal Responsibilities
- Produce quality CT scans and be able to anticipate when additional imaging would be beneficial.
- Show good knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy.
- Know the capabilities of the computer/scanner.
- Able to identify pathology and provide radiologist with accurate measurements and density readings.
- Operate dry laser printer.
- Prepare CT films for radiologist to read.
- Obtain complete patient history.
- Keep log of all patients.
- Inform all technologists working in CT of all protocols and any changes proposed by the radiologists.
- Stay current on CT procedures to provide quality service.
- Maintain contrast reaction boxes throughout the Radiology department.
Education/Experience
- Must be a graduate of an approved ACR School.
- Must have five years of experience in CT.

- Possess manual dexterity to use keyboard and handle equipment and appliances.
- Capable of pushing, pulling, stooping, bending, lifting, and twisting.
- Capable of wearing lead apron for long periods of time.
- Capable of walking and/or standing for long periods of time.
- Capable of assisting patient to and from CT unit.
Working Environment
- Exposed to fumes from cleaning agents or x-ray film processor chemicals, in limited areas.
- Exposed to conditions including exposure to blood and body fluids, tissue, contagious diseases and/or potentially hazardous materials.
- Ocassional heavy lifting required.
