Role Overview
The CT Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality computed tomography exams, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining ARRT competency. They operate CT equipment, verify patient identity, and prepare patients for procedures, adhering to safety and departmental protocols.
Key Duties
- Operate CT equipment and produce quality images
- Ensure proper patient identification and preparation
- Review images for clarity and accuracy
- Follow radiation safety guidelines
- Provide patient education and comfort
- Communicate with care team and coordinate patient care
- Stay updated on CT advancements through ongoing education
- Assist and instruct students and colleagues in exam protocols
Qualifications & Skills
- ARRT certification (R) required; ARRT (R)(CT) preferred for Level I
- Minimum of 1-2 years hospital CT experience for Level I; 3+ years for Level II
- Basic Life Support certification required
- State licensure and IV competency required
- Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, radiation safety, and recognition of normal/abnormal variants
