Responsible for performing CT procedures to assist in disease diagnosis. This position is safety-sensitive; the employee must maintain constant alertness and work safely.

Responsibilities

  • Review images in the PACS system and identify abnormalities.
  • Assist the Radiologist in interpreting patient exams.
  • Perform CT procedures as prescribed by a physician, including:
    • Positioning patients for proper views of affected areas.
    • Selecting appropriate scan images for transfer to the PACS system.
    • Obtaining essential information from patients, medical records, and previous scans for clinical correlation.
    • Instructing patients on physiological requirements for the procedure.
    • Assisting patients in transferring to the CT exam table and ensuring proper immobilization.
    • Adjusting scanning parameters to improve scan quality.
    • Obtaining diagnostic CT images of the appropriate body part and submitting them to a physician for interpretation.
  • Assist in performing life-saving techniques (CPR, first aid) if necessary.
  • Practice sterile techniques and prevent cross-contamination.
  • Handle blood, body fluids, and infectious patients safely.
  • Perform patient care tasks as needed.
  • Request charts and film folders from the online computer program.
  • Skilled in intravenously injecting contrast for imaging procedures.
  • Use computer network systems competently to process patient and department information.
  • Assume responsibility for safety factors and explain procedures clearly to patients.

Requirements

  • High school diploma; graduation from an accredited Radiography school.
  • ARRT (CT) registered or registry eligible.
  • Current Radiologic Technology License (RTL) in good standing.
  • BLS certification.
  • Minimum one year of experience and/or training with graduate CT.
